On Halloween this year, our church, St Mary Magdalene Gorleston will be preparing to welcome around 200 families from our estate, to pass through our annual ‘Light on a Dark Night’ event. 

On Halloween, Christian families from across South Leicester came together to transform their neighbourhoods into a vibrant Trail of Light

For several years now we have hosted an annual light fair on the Friday or Saturday closest to Halloween…The highlight of the evening is the fire performance done by a member of our congregation who is a dancer and fire performer.

We had a great response from neighbours and friends who appreciated the lights and sweet treats on offer.

Having been the 'lights off, avoid' family we are now thrilled to be bringing some joy and hopefulnes.

What I loved most was how naturally it opened up conversations about why we were doing it, and about our faith.
