We are a group of Christians that are passionate about shining the light of Jesus at Halloween and encouraging others to do the same.
We’re convinced that Jesus isn’t calling us to be a light on our own, rather a city for ‘a city on a hill cannot be hidden’.
Since the summer of 2025 we have been meeting regularly to pray and plan together.

Andrew Bates
Andrew is the driving force behind Light Beacons, a grassroots, inter‑church outreach that turns Halloween night into a moment of community connection, safety, and Christian witness.
Andrew serves as outreach team leader at New Life Church in Woking. He is passionate about sharing Jesus and inspiring others to do so too.

Nay Dawson
Nay set up Houses of Light in 2019 encouraging christians to offer a warm, generous welcome to neighbours and friends at Halloween.
She is the founder of Passion for Evangelism. PfE exists to empower, encourage, and equip women to share the good news of Jesus with God-given confidence and creativity.
She is passionate about helping women grow in their God given gifts, her book She Needs - Women flourishing in the church (IVP, March 2024) explores these issues

Helen Ward
Helen set up Streets of Light, which seeks to bring change & transformation to neighbourhoods & communities through window displays that convey a message of Light, Love & Hope as an alternative to Halloween.
She is the leader for Families, Children and Community Outreach at Hertford Baptist Church.
